It's Calliope again!!
When I was a kid we had a tire swing in the backyard for a few years. The only problem was that the rope was this nylon stuff that seemed to stretch... After about three summers we realized that the swing was scuffing the ground, and after that that it would sit on the ground when we were on it... Sadness, I tell you. Utter sadness.
